“If I had clean clothes people would treat me like a human being.”

 T-Bone (Eric), Laundry Love Co-Founder

Laundry Love washes the clothes and bedding of low/no income families and person(s) across the US. We brighten the lives of thousands of people through love, dignity, and detergent by partnering with diverse groups and laundromats nationwide.

Millions of low-income struggling families and person(s)

The story of Laundry Love began with T-Bone (Eric),

A houseless gentleman living in Ventura Calif. In one particular conversation, a question was asked of him: “How can we come alongside your life in a meaningful way?”  His response was honest and practical. “If I had clean clothes I think people would treat me like a human being.”

Laundry Love gives the gift of clean clothes

The Laundry Love initiative consists of regular opportunities to come alongside people who are struggling financially by assisting them with their laundry. Laundry love partners with groups and local laundromats in cleaning clothes and linens of low-income or no-income families and person(s). We see the laundromat as a place where strangers become friends, people are known by name, hope is hustled, and the worth of every human being is acknowledged and celebrated.

How it works

Make Connection with Laundry Love

Starting a Laundry Love location starts with connection. Go to our Start a Laundry Love page and read through our FAQ’s.  After doing so, our Director of Operations is ready and available to connect with you.

Read the Laundry Love Guide & Agreement

After connecting with Laundry Love you will receive the Laundry Love Guide book and Agreement. Take time reading the guidebook as it will give you a thorough understanding of starting and sustaining a Laundry Love location.

Develop Your Team & Partner with a local Laundromat

Build a committed group of volunteers like friends, family, co-workers, community or faith groups. Find a local laundromat who says yes to partnering with you. Try to find a laundromat close to mass transit, bus lines, think about walkability, proximity to low income housing.

Register your Laundry Love location

Register your Laundry Love. This is essential and non-negotiable. All Laundry Love locations register on the national map helping families and persons in your area find you.

Develop a Sustainable Funding Stream

Develop a funding stream to sustain your Laundry Love effort. Build partnerships that will care for Laundry Love participants. See our Fundraising page for ideas.

Over 2 million  loads of laundry and more than 1.5 million people served since 2003, with an estimated 100,000 people cared for annually.

Did you know that there are 30,000+ laundromats nationwide, including one in your city & town? Let’s establish a Laundry Love effort near you!

“We average 780 loads a month. We have connected with the two women’s shelters here and that has been spectacular! They bring all their bedding and children’s clothing and their own, and we do about 85 loads for them.

This is a terrific project and it does so much good — the fellowship is outstanding, and grows with each return of participants. It helps our homeless project coordinator to discover more people to help, and our community is, for the first time, working to create Our Father’s House, as a shelter from the cold and wet weather. Eventually, it will be operational all year as we develop the volunteers and the financing.
Laundry Love sparked this interest and commitment in our community. What a great work it is!”

“Laundry Love was the beginning of seeing the world differently for me…seeing the forgotten, the overlooked, the cast aside, and those in the margins. It showed me those who the systems and prosperity gospels of the world didn’t work, but not for lack of faith…for lack of opportunity, dignity and relationship.

Some of my best friends and relationships in the world have been shaped by this movement and I could not imagine where I’d be without them . Thank you for being faithful to this work. I am a life that was changed because of it. A life interrupted.”
